  1. so i logged on Sunday, ran 6 sorties all ground attack killed or captured 2 times and i'm out. I'm just as happy to fly combat box or Knights, if i wanted to be penalized this much I would have joined the air force where you only have one life to give. the ground ai in crazy was shot up at 1 km from target while hugging the trees on my way out.
  2. the truth is that a slow SSD is about 3 times faster than the fastest HDD
  3. ok so low end 720p single screen rig Windows 10 Home - 64-bit - OEM $109.99 LG Internal 24x Super Multi with M-DISC Support SATA Model GH24NSC0B $17.99 WD Blue 3D NAND 500GB Internal SSD - SATA III 6Gb/s M.2 2280 Solid State Drive - WDS500G2B0B $64.99 APEVIA ATX-RP500W 500W ATX12V Non-Modular Power Supply $23.65 DIYPC Solo-T2-BK Black USB 3.0 ATX Mid Tower Gaming Computer Case with 2 x Blue Fans (1 x 120mm LED fan x front, 1x120mm fan x rear) Pre-installed $23.97 PowerColor RED DRAGON Radeon RX 570 DirectX 12 AXRX 570 4GBD5-3DHD/OC 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support ATX Video Card $129.99 ASRock A320M-HDV R4.0 AM4 AMD Promontory A320 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard $59.99 G.SKILL Value 8GB (2 x 4GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200) Intel X299 / Z270 / Z170 / X99 Platform Desktop Memory Model F4-2400C17D-8GNT $39.99 AMD RYZEN 3 1200 4-Core 3.1 GHz (3.4 GHz Turbo) Socket AM4 65W YD1200BBAEBOX Desktop Processor $69.99 no frills low end 720p machine that i would expect to maintain 50FPS and total cost is $540.55 you could even drop $20 off of it by going to a RX 560 graphic card but the 570 makes it possible to do 1080p (with possible issues) . there is no HDD in this rig but 500GB SSD will be enough to game and other things just no recording. My current rig only has 240GB SSD for all my games and OS just use the HDD for recording.
  4. we have all been in the spot where the available funds are severely limited and these builds are mid to high level for running IL2, so for anyone that this is out of your budget let me or Ogg know and we can probably find you a solution that is within your budget. there are also used parts floating around the squad, I usually just donate my old rig when i upgrade. so speak up if anyone needs help.
  5. just from my perspective AMD is better in performance / $ at the low to mid range but Intel invida owns the top end (for now) my rig is AMD graphics (but looking to go invida in the future) and intel CPU.
  6. Ok a possible AMD rig all from newegg Windows 10 Home - 64-bit - OEM $109.99 LG Internal 24x Super Multi with M-DISC Support SATA Model GH24NSC0B $17.99 WD Blue 4TB Desktop Hard Disk Drive - 5400 RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5 Inch - WD40EZRZ $84.99 HP EX900 M.2 500GB PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe 3D TLC NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) 2YY44AA#ABC $64.99 Rosewill CAPSTONE 650M 650W Modular Power Supply (80 PLUS GOLD Certified) $64.99 Rosewill FBM-X1 Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mini Tower Case with Side Panel Window $26.99 PowerColor RED DEVIL Radeon RX 590 DirectX 12 AXRX 590 8GBD5-3DH/OC 8GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support ATX Video Card $229.99 MSI PERFORMANCE GAMING X470 GAMING PLUS AM4 AMD X470 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard $129.99 G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200) Desktop Memory Model F4-2400C15D-16GVR $79.99 AMD RYZEN 5 2600X 6-Core 3.6 GHz (4.2 GHz Max Boost) Socket AM4 95W YD260XBCAFBOX Desktop Processor $184.99 Fan included total price including 4tb drive but not data hub $994.90 I would revise motherboard, case and storage based on your preferences this graphics card is significantly faster than the 1050Ti and the processor in in the same league. the SSD is slower than the WD black above but 3 to 6 times faster than HDD and 2 to 3 times faster than a sata ssd. the 650 power supply is fine for this setup based on me running the 290x on a 650w power supply without issues. i would keep the m.2 module at the cost of other stuff except the graphics card. imo the starting point is the graphics card then the m.2 storage, processor then fill in the parts. I would not consider this to be a low end system, it should be capable of single screen 1080p at min of 50FPS any way just IMO
